Crop Report: U-Pick Goldrush Apples
Happy Friday! This weekend we will have u-pick pumpkins and apples. The apple variety available to pick this weekend is Goldrush. Goldrush is an awesome all-purpose apple and a customer favorite. Give us a call or send us an email for more info.
Lots of new varieties are available in our farm market. Here's a little info about some of the new ones.
Goldrush are finally here! Goldrush are a local favorite for several reasons, they are very firm, tart, and a great keeper. Goldrush are our most planted trees.
Mutsu/Crispin are a descendant of Yellow Delicious. They are similar to Yellow Delicious but are much juicer.
Melrose apples are not the prettiest but they have fantastic flavor. This excellent all purpose apple is sweet, juicy, and firm. Fun fact, Melrose is our state apple!
Stayman Winesap apples were discovered in Kansas, in 1866. Stayman are sweetly tart, crisp, and juicy. They are a good all-purpose apple.
