Crop Report: Farm Fresh Strawberries

Thanks for checking in! Lots of new additions to our produce selection this week. We are loving the Ohio grown, fresh picked strawberries. Full list of produce available in our Farm Market to follow.

Georgia peaches have been excellent. They are so sweet and juicy. Many of you have shared your favorite way to cook or bake with peaches. So many great ideas! We are glad you are enjoying them as much as we are.

We are now taking orders for tart Michigan cherries. Here's the scoop. Tart cherries come in 10 or 30 pound buckets fresh picked and pitted. Yes, already pitted! Feeling like 10 pounds might be too much? Split them with family or friends. Cherries also freeze very well. In our family we always freeze a bunch for Thanksgiving and Christmas pies. Cherries will arrive mid-July. Pricing will be available after harvest. 10 pound buckets are usually around $30. Give us a call, send us an email or stop in to get on the list!

The arrival of strawberries has us thinking about summer desserts. While locally grown strawberries are in season we love to incorporate them into our weekly meals and snack as much as we can. Here are a couple recipes that caught our eye this week.
