Crop Report: Fresh Pressed Apple Cider!

September 16, 2021

Thanks for checking in this week! The wait is finally over, we pressed our first batch of apple cider this week. It's really looking and feeling like fall here at the orchard. Full list of locally grown produce and apple varieties available in our Farm Market to follow.

We're so happy to have fresh pressed cider again! We will continue to press cider two to three times a week up until we close for the season at the end of December. Please note that our cider is pressed small batch and tends to sell out on weekends during peak season (September & October). Give us a call to see if cider is in stock before making a special trip.

Here are a couple apple cider recipes that look prefect for this weekend! Links to recipes below photos.

Homebrewers, we know you're excited for cider too! If you're planning to purchase gallons of cider for homebrewing we recommend waiting a few weeks. As the season goes on and more apple varieties are harvested our cider builds more complexity ideal for hard cider. It's absolutely worth the wait!

Peaches from Northern Ohio are still available in our Farm Market. Peach season will be coming to a close soon. Until then, we are enjoying every last minute of it! This weekend look for yellow and white Ohio grown freestone peaches. Don't let summer slip away without trying this Peach Sangria recipe, incredible! We recommend mixing yellow and white peaches for this delicious cocktail.
